What is the difference between Interac e-Transfer and Western Union Money Transfer?
The Western Union Money Transfer service gives you a way to send cash from your Canadian dollar BMO bank account to a Western Union agent location for someone to pick up. Money can be transferred within Canada and to more than 200 countries. This transfer service is a secure and low cost way to send money around the world.
Western Union International Transfer limits:
Send a maximum of $999.99 per 24 hours, $2999.97 per seven days or $6999.93 per 30 days. Western Union Money Transfers must be a minimum of $10.00 and must be sent from a Canadian dollar account.
Currently, the Western Union Money Transfer service is only available to personal banking customers.
The Interac e-Transfer is a payment service that gives you the ability to send and receive Canadian money securely to anyone with an email address and a Canadian bank account through Online Banking.
To see your daily limits on Interac e-Transfers, sign in to your account and click View your daily debit card limits under “Bank Accounts” in “My Account Summary”.
